1) Quick summary for parents

  • We don’t show ads and we don’t track your child.

  • We collect only what’s needed to run the app and manage a subscription.

  • Payments are handled by Apple; we don’t see or store your card details.

  • If you contact us, we’ll use your (parent/guardian) email only to support you.

  • You can ask us to delete data at any time: amazonascomicscic@gmail.com.

2) Children’s privacy (COPPA & UK/EU rules)

FOREST PATROL is designed for children. We follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and UK/EU data protection law.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.

  • If we learn we unintentionally collected personal data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

  • Any contact information we hold is from parents/guardians only (e.g., when you email us for support).

3) What we collect and why (minimum necessary)

We aim to keep collection lean and purpose-limited:

a) Device & app info (on launch and during use)

  • Examples: device model, OS version, app version, basic diagnostics/crash logs.

  • Why: to ensure compatibility, fix bugs, and keep the app working well.

  • Legal basis (UK/EU): Legitimate interests (app functionality & safety).

b) Subscription status (from Apple)

  • Examples: active/inactive subscription, renewal dates, product tier.

  • Why: to unlock premium content and manage access you’ve purchased.

  • Shared with: Apple as the payment/entitlement provider.

  • Legal basis: Performance of contract (providing your subscription).

c) Usage data (non-identifying, aggregated)

  • Examples: which episodes are opened, time spent, completion rates.

  • Why: to improve content and user experience; we do not build profiles.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (service improvement).

d) Parent/guardian email (only if you contact us)

  • Examples: your email message and address.

  • Why: to answer support questions and manage subscriptions.

  • Legal basis: Consent (you contacting us) and/or legitimate interests (responding).

We do not collect names, home addresses, precise location (GPS), photos, microphone/contacts, advertising identifiers, or social profiles from children.

4) In-app purchases & payments

  • Subscriptions are processed securely by Apple’s App Store.

  • We do not receive or store your payment card details.

  • Managing your subscription (start/cancel/refund) happens through your Apple ID settings.

5) No ads, no third-party tracking

  • No third-party advertising SDKs.

  • No behavioral tracking or cross-app tracking.

  • If Apple provides aggregated, anonymized analytics, these are governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple device settings.

  • Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

6) Data sharing & service providers

We share data only when necessary to run the service:

  • Apple (Subscriptions/Entitlements/StoreKit) – to validate purchases and manage access.

  • Error/crash reporting – if used, limited to technical diagnostics (no child identifiers).

  • We do not sell or rent any data.

7) International transfers

If data is processed or stored outside the UK/EU (for example by Apple or a cloud provider), we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses and take steps to protect your information to UK/EU standards.

8) How long we keep data (retention)

  • Subscription/entitlement records: as required for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations (typically up to 6 years in the UK).

  • Crash logs/diagnostics: up to 12 months to spot and fix recurring issues.

  • Support emails: up to 24 months after the case closes, then deleted.

  • We delete sooner if the data is no longer needed.

9) Your rights (parents & guardians)

Under UK/EU law (and COPPA for U13s), you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about your child or you.

  • Delete data (ask us to erase it).

  • Correct inaccurate data.

  • Restrict or object to certain processing.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Complain to the UK ICO or your local regulator.

To exercise any right, email amazonascomicscic@gmail.com. We may ask you to prove you are the parent or legal guardian.

10) Security

We use industry-standard security (encryption in transit, secure servers, access controls). No method is 100% secure, but we work to keep the app and any limited data we handle safe.

11) App permissions & features

  • Camera/Microphone/Photos: Not used by this version of FOREST PATROL.

  • Location: Not collected.

  • Social features / user-generated content: Not included.
If this changes in a future release, we will update this policy and request any required parental permissions.

12) Third-party links

If the app ever includes a parent-only link (e.g., to our website or email), it will be placed behind a parental gate (simple adult check) to keep children in the safe experience.

13) California (CPRA) note

We do not sell or share personal information (as defined by California law), and we do not use cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents can use the same rights request process via amazonascomicscic@gmail.com.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our app or legal requirements change. For material changes, we will notify you in-app and/or by email (if we have your email). The latest version will always show the effective date at the top.
